We welcome you to chat online with an advisor at University College. The advisor will need your 10-digit ID number. A transcript of this conversation will be placed in your file.

We need you to be aware of some things that we CAN and CANNOT share with you online:

Questions that Can Be Answered
Advisors can answer general questions concerning program requirements, change of major, school certification requirements, course registration, and transferring to another college or university. Advisors can give information online that is commonly available on the Web or in publications.

Questions that Cannot Be Answered
If you do not know your student ID, advisors will not be able to help you with confidential and protected information. You must know your student ID as the advisor cannot find your student ID for you.

Get an Account

You will need to add an account to your existing IUPUI accounts to be able to use Instant Advising. This will only take a minute or two, and you will only need to do it once.

Make a Connection

Once you have created an account, you have the choice of using the Web client or downloading a client to your Windows computer, Apple computer, Windows Mobile phone, or Blackberry phone.

Speak to an Advisor

Once you have signed in to the client, type advising@iupui.edu or University College Advising in the search box. Double click on the account name, and you will be chatting with one of our advisors.
